Several years before the launch of Starlet Sheet, I somehow stumbled upon FreeOnes. Aside from being what is essentially a virtual encyclopedia of porn stars, one of the things that I noticed was the large amount of participation in the forums. Until then, the only types of forums I had participated in were fantasy football related. The big difference between a forum built on a shared interest of fantasy football and a forum built upon a shared interest of porn is that large groups of guys don’t sit around and high-five each other while watching porn. At least I don’t. Nor have I ever heard of there being a porn equivalent to a book club where girls meet every couple of weeks and instead of talking about the book they’ve just read and deciding what to read next, start off by saying “So, what did everyone think of the Charity Bangs double penetration scene in My First Gangbang?”

Not only is the community unique because of the fact that it is largely revolved around porn, there is also a large section devoted to non-porn related topics and the level of civility and respect that members show for one another in that section is above and beyond what you’re likely to see in any type of online forum. The quality of comments one would typically see posted on a Yahoo! article about an even semi-controversial topic pale in comparison to the quality of comments you’ll find about the same topic in the non-porn section of the FreeOnes forum. It’s like night and day. I stopped allowing comments on this website after a month because pretty much every one I saw more closely resembled a primeval grunt than intelligent discourse about the creative brilliance of Richard Avery and overall hotness of all the models on Juliland. That probably had a lot to do with the fact that the site wasn’t getting much traffic, but it goes to show that a lot of time and patience is necessary to build up an online forum. The fact that FreeOnes has been able to create and maintain such a community-like atmosphere in one that totals nearly 451,000 members is very impressive. I mean, to put that number into perspective, if FreeOnes were a city, it’s population would be approximately the same as Liverpool or Kansas City.

After reading an article mentioning that the total number of galleries on FreeOnes had surpassed the 500,000 mark and seeing as the first three planned parts of the Starlet Sheet 12 for 12 were supposed to be top ten lists, I thought it would be interesting to find out which ten of their nearly 20,000 babes has the most galleries. To make it even more interesting, I asked forum administrator Petra a few questions about the forum itself and how she came to be the fearless leader of a 451,000 member strong nation of porn lovers. Here’s the Q&A with Petra followed by a list of the Top Ten Most Linked Babes on FreeOnes.

How long have you worked at FreeOnes? What is your job description?
I’ve been with FreeOnes 4 years this month (July). I’m an “all-round” person since I do a little of everything, except programming!

What did you do before working at FreeOnes?
I was what you’d probably consider a corrections officer in the states. My educational background is in Criminal Justice.

How did you find the job ? What interested you about the job?
Not many people realize this, but FreeOnes is based in the Netherlands. Around the time I got the permit to work in the country, I came across an ad looking for a native English speaker for an office job. I had no idea that the position was for a porn company, until I got invited for an interview. I decided to give it a go and see what it was about and the rest is history!

How much has forum participation grown since you started?
It’s grown a lot. It helps to have someone dedicated to trying to draw in new members with new features, contests, and even girls! I can remember the very first contest that I ran 4 years ago. I was giving away a pretty expensive PlayBoy watch and I got only 4 members who entered. Over the years, I’ve tried a lot of different things to try to get more participation. Now I regularly have 100 or more people attempting to win passes and goods.

The girls also help. One of the things that I really got involved in was getting the porn stars and models to come and participate on the board. These are known as our Official Checked Star Members. I think there were 30 or 40 when I started. Now I have over 500 of them on the board and over half post at least once a month. We can also thank another creation of mine, Miss FreeOnes for a lot more participation.

How many total members ? On average, how many total posts per day?
Currently we have close to 451,000 members. The number of posts we get per day fluctuate, but I’d say between 3-4,000. A lot of our members are just there to look at the pictures and not actually post themselves. Though we’re working daily to try to get these folks to participate themselves!

Do you have any funny stories of things you’ve seen in the forums?
I don’t know about funny stories, but the guys who post their penis for all to see are always pretty amusing. Though we did have one famed character who loved posting pictures of shit. He was banned several times, but he’s become so famous that whenever we get some new guy that decides to troll the forum by posting shit pictures, he’s dubbed Baconsalt.

For what types of things have you banned people ?
I think it’s pretty close to any other board out there. Spamming, creating and using duplicate accounts. But we also have to ban people who can’t appreciate that we’re trying to keep stolen and pirated content off our board.

How many OCSMs are there ? How many of them post regularly?
As I stated before, we have over 500 Official Checked Star Members right now. About half of them will post a few times a month. I’m sure the number of OCSMs, as well as those who actively participate will increase the closer we get to the Miss FreeOnes 2012 contest since there’s new girls in the industry that will want to undoubtedly participate!
